Get your credentials

To communicate with the Rackspace Ticketing API, you need your Rackspace Dedicated or Cloud account ID, username and API key.

Note

In the API documentation, the account ID refers to your Identity tenant ID. The following table shows example account IDs:

Retrieving credentials for dedicated accounts

You can view individual usernames and API keys in the my.rackspace.com portal. You can work with your Rackspace Account Manager to ensure that your accounts have this capability.

Follow these instructions to get your credentials:

  • To get your account ID, click the ACCOUNT menu in the top navigation bar. The account number is shown at the top of the menu. Prefix this account number with hybrid:.
  • To get your account username and API key, follow the instructions in View and reset your API key.

Protect your API key. Do not expose the value in code samples, screen captures, or insecure client-server communications. Also, verify that the value is not included in source code that is stored in public repositories.

Retrieving credentials for all other accounts

To get your credentials, log in to the Rackspace Cloud Control Panel.

  • Your account username is the username that you use to log in.
  • To get your account ID, click the username menu in the top-right corner of the control panel. The account ID is shown at the top of the menu.
  • To get your API key, follow the instructions in View and reset your API key.
