Preface#

Rackspace Private Cloud Powered By OpenStack (RPCO) uses OpenStack-Ansible to quickly install an OpenStack private cloud, configured as recommended by Rackspace OpenStack specialists.

About Rackspace Private Cloud Powered By Openstack#

Rackspace Private Cloud Powered By Openstack (RPCO) uses the Ansible IT automation framework to create an OpenStack cluster on the Ubuntu operating system. OpenStack components are installed into Linux Containers (LXC) for isolation, scalability, and ease of maintenance.

RPCO configuration#

Rackspace Private Cloud Powered By Openstack (RPCO) installs and manages OpenStack Newton with the following services:

  • Compute (nova)
  • Object Storage (swift)
  • Block Storage (cinder)
  • Networking (neutron)
  • Dashboard (horizon)
  • Identity (keystone)
  • Image service (glance)
  • Orchestration (heat)

RPCO also provides the following infrastructure, monitoring, and logging services to support OpenStack:

  • Galera with MariaDB
  • RabbitMQ
  • Memcached
  • Rsyslog
  • Logstash
  • Elasticsearch with Kibana
